The spot was very quiet and peaceful if you enjoy walks, and the fenced garden kept our small dog safe. However, the property looked a bit tired and somewhat grubby for the price, and I wasn’t happy with the bathroom layout—shower next to the toilet without a curtain, water splashing everywhere, and it didn’t feel like a proper wet‑room floor. We even had to pick up litter left by a previous guest. Normally I wouldn’t give negative feedback, but after a 2‑night stay and a self‑check‑in we found no nearby shop, and when we asked for extra toilet paper we were told only two were provided, which felt cheeky given we paid over £320 for two nights.

I was happy with the room and the hot tub, and it was great that the hotel is dog friendly. However, the self‑catering area was missing basics: no dishwashing liquid, seasonings, oil, or even a few coffee, tea, or milk sachets. These are the items one expects in a self‑catering setup, so a heads‑up would help. At least the shop down the road was open.

The staff were friendly and the pace was relaxed, making it feel like a little slice of heaven. I brought my 11‑year‑old neurodivergent son, and the hot tub with its colored lights, waterfall shower, and attentive staff—especially Keoglen—made it a memorable experience. We’ll definitely return to explore more. The only hiccup was that our robes were forgotten.
