The Cliff Hotel, overlooking Gorleston's sandy beach, features an elegant restaurant, garden terrace, and free WiFi. Individually decorated rooms have HD TVs, tea/coffee facilities, and en-suite bathrooms. The hotel boasts stunning sea views, locally sourced food, and an extensive drinks selection. Free on-site parking is available, with Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft a 10-minute drive away, and the Norfolk Broads nearby.

The staff were super friendly, and we could walk to the Gorleston pavilion for their comedy night. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous, and the outdoor space offered wonderful sea views. The only downside is that the building is old; otherwise, it’s a lovely place with character.

I stayed in a room without air‑conditioning and couldn’t open the window. The TV was broken, the Wi‑Fi code wasn’t given, and breakfast, though paid for, only started at 7 am and ended at 6:45 am.

The evening meal was excellent, the breakfast very good, the shower powerful and hot, and there was sparkling water in the room. The back entrance was locked when I returned from a show at the nearby Pavillion Theatre, and someone managed to ring the duty manager.

Breakfast was good, and I’ve stayed many times and keep coming back. The only issue is that when it’s too cold outside, the restaurant lacks a comfortable area to sit.
