The view of the lake was nice, but the staff only helped with luggage after a long wait on the first day, no drinks or fruit were offered, the breakfast included a clambake that wasn’t clean, the shower hooks were hidden by plants, the food was pricey, taxi assistance was charged extra, and we couldn’t order a Grab there.

It was an amazing escape from the hectic trip from Java, just a 15‑minute Grab ride to the port, the personnel were very helpful, and the western‑style breakfasts (omelette, avocado toast, fruit) and dinner were great. Thank you for the much‑needed rest on our trip!

The room was nice, but ongoing construction on the site caused constant banging all day, the room wasn’t cleaned (the toilet paper wasn’t even removed), and the service staff seemed like they were hosting a teenage girl’s sleep‑over; we had to fetch our own menus and go upstairs to order, except for one helpful guy on the second night.

I stayed at Places, which sits in a quiet, secluded spot with a huge villa and a nice pool. The smart TV had plenty of apps, and a black‑sand beach was a 15‑minute walk away. The food was decent and could be delivered to the room, but only vegetarian and fish options were offered—no other meats. The bed sheets were a problem: they arrived dirty and stained, and when I asked for new ones the staff just giggled instead of fixing it. The location is very remote, so nothing interesting is within walking distance; renting a bike is a must.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bathroom was huge, complete with a bathtub. The resort itself is gorgeous and very quiet, right by the lake. We were only there for a layover, so the rooms were a bit noisy.
