I liked the unique charm of the hotel; the décor is raw and the vibe is warm. There was no headboard, only pillows served that purpose, and the bedside tables were very small. The lighting control once you’re in bed wasn’t great.

I stayed near the springs and liked the design, but one staff member was young, immature and unprofessional, not recognizing the fees already paid through booking. Luckily, another employee quickly figured out my reservation and welcomed me warmly, contrasting sharply with the surly attitude of the first.

I absolutely love the Carpenter! We’re from Austin and booked a short staycation for my birthday and my sister’s. The place is incredibly comfortable and calming, and the balcony and pool are especially great. It’s very central to the downtown areas you might want to visit. During both stays we walked to dinner, which isn’t always possible in Austin. Nothing else to note.

The property was stunning and the beds were super comfy. The pool was a bit crowded, but that’s to be expected in summer. The only downside was that the TV in our room didn’t work.
