“Fabulous location, amazing views.”
We’ve stayed at the Grimaldi for over 25 years and always loved it, but last year’s new owners seemed to be still getting used to things, so a cold shower was just a teething issue. This year, however, it feels like the new owners aren’t paying as much attention or staying involved as they should. Before we arrived, calling anyone was a nightmare; at check‑in we were handed keys and an entry code, but no one was on site for the rest of our stay. A handwritten note on the restaurant door and main entrance said the owners were on holiday, yet nothing was posted online or on the answering machine, which would have been helpful. Breakfast was unavailable because the restaurant was closed. We booked a two‑night stay in October and an extra night on 1 November, but during those two nights the bed wasn’t made and bottled water, a nice touch, was no longer supplied. With so many Airbnb options, hotel guests expect a different experience.
The charm and comfort of the room were great, and the manager’s welcome was very friendly, but parking the car was difficult.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel with a very pleasant welcome. There were parking spots not too far away, even though there weren’t many. The bars in front of the hotel were very friendly, and we even got lucky with an orchestra on Friday night. The bed was very comfortable; the only thing we missed was a Smart TV. Otherwise everything was perfect. The AC worked well and we had hot water. We’ll return gladly.
The smell was absolutely horrible.
The view and nearby restaurants were nice, but there were no parking spaces and it was very hard to find a spot.
