There were a lot of cockroaches, which made the experience unpleasant.

The host was very warm and seemed to love Taiwan, which made the stay even friendlier; it felt like the host had lived there, so the house carried a personal history. In the stairwell, a “Mingzi” was staying that night, and right after, I saw someone rehearsing a dance in the square, so a child picked up a self‑composed routine and created a lovely memory. The schedule was too tight this time, so I couldn’t fully appreciate the beauty of Gaozhi; next time I’ll plan to stay longer.
