Breakfast was excellent, especially the perfectly cooked omelettes. We didn’t like the doonas because they were heavy and too hot; a lighter alternative would be appreciated.

A solid base for visiting Shaolin Temple and hiking nearby. We might have come in the low season (July), so it was fairly empty and the snack bar was closed in the afternoon. We stayed one night in a private room with very good service and another night in the almost empty general restaurant. The staff spoke only Chinese, but we could resolve issues with translator tools if we didn’t speak the language. Breakfast options were good. The swimming pool was refreshing, though both the pool and gym were fairly dated but still functional.

“Большой, красивый отель!”

The rooms were comfy and the view from the window was great, plus the hotel had a big yard and even sent a birthday card. Breakfast had a decent spread, but it was hard to snag a seat because the conference drew a lot of Chinese guests. The pool was a bit underwhelming, and in room 2520 the top of the bathroom door was covered in a thick layer of dust that hadn't been cleaned in years.
