Some cool people were staying there and it does what it says on the tin, but it’s run by Indians who do the bare minimum and it feels a bit creepy that some of their family might live there.

The Hostel & Hotel are run by the same people, and the Hotel where I ate was smart and the staff friendly. The Hostel looked run down and a bit grubby; automatic lights were broken in the toilets, one of two showers didn’t work, and the toilet in the boot room was also out of action.

I’m not sure what to say about this place; I hoped they were renovating it because it wasn’t nice. No hostel staff were around, and I felt like the only one there, but I shared the space with two others. The room decor and furnishings were old and tatty. I avoided the showers because they looked awful and there was a man in the ladies’ bathroom while the men’s were broken—no one told me about this. I wouldn’t stay longer than a day unless I could get into the hotel across the road. Once some money was spent on it, it could be nice.

I’ve never seen a hostel cleaner than this one; the shower was spacious and the little backyard with seating was a nice touch.
