We stayed at the Olive Tree while traveling from Augrabies to Kgalagadi and found everything fine. The room and bed were comfortable, and there were nice touches like rusks to accompany the coffee. Vehicle security was good. The property sits in a pleasant, leafy suburb a short drive from the Orange River winery tasting rooms, where we enjoyed a nice dinner. One party left a wallet in the room; Brom notified us by phone and email, and we were reunited with it four days later. There were no significant dislikes.

The location is safe and convenient, the room is clean and well organized, and the price is very reasonable; we felt welcomed by Braam, which was a real pleasure—thank you. Wi‑fi speeds were slow, but given the price we didn’t expect much, so the wi‑fi was a bonus.

The spot is good for a night’s stay while traveling, and the host was friendly. Some rooms lack effective light blocking, so the room was lit all night by outside lights.
