Everything was good and clean, the beds were comfortable, the linen was clean, the owner was very kind and friendly, and I felt welcome, but I did not like that the bathroom had a clear window with only a thin lace curtain, which made me feel uncomfortable to shower with the lights on.

We stopped at Botuin Cottages for one night while driving through Vanrhynsdorp, and it was a quiet, spacious spot with a fully equipped kitchen and a private braai area outside the unit – a nice touch. The host checked in to make sure everything was fine and that we were enjoying our stay, and we appreciated that pets were allowed. The road to the gate is a bit rough and gravely, but manageable. Overall it was a peaceful, comfortable night and a good stop for our one‑night visit.
