The spot is amazing. The rooms are windowless and a bit eerie, and the smell isn’t very pleasant.

The location is spot‑on. You’re essentially on Dutch Bay, a gorgeous Trincomalee beach with a great snorkeling spot at Navy Rock. Some beach areas have a lot of litter, which, unfortunately, is common around Sri Lanka. We appreciated being in town, so we could eat at local spots without relying on tourist spots. The hostel needs a facelift; rooms only open onto a dark hallway, and the bathroom is small and basic. Since we spent most of our time outside, it didn’t bother us too much.

The place is perfectly situated, and the staff were very helpful in arranging a whale/dolphin safari and snorkeling. The property is basic but clean and well kept.
