The room was clean and quiet at night, and the staff were very courteous.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the breakfast was not very good, there wasn’t much variety, the coffee wasn’t hot, the fried eggs were overcooked, and the room was noisy at night from guests and/or staff talking loudly in the corridor.

I booked because of the rating, but it was basically a house converted into a lodge, and for Penang the rates were okay. Parking was tight. I was very disappointed; I expected the rating to be accurate and I made a last‑minute booking, so maybe I misjudged. The room had a king‑size bed that left no room to be comfortable, the table was small, the power outlet on my side didn’t work and the staff gave me an extension cord on the already small table, the water heater had a hidden button that needed resetting for hot water, the toilet was a wet bathroom because the shower was integrated, the bidet leaked and made the floor completely wet even for toilet use, the lighting was dim with no counter to place anything, and another room I booked had sticky floors—no idea what that was. The location had hawker stalls that opened from 5 pm to 10 pm, but I never got to try them because of the restricted timing; only a 7‑11 was nearby, so it wasn’t an ideal spot. In short, this place isn’t for us ladies, maybe a bachelor who wants a king‑size bed 😅. Not all that glitters is gold.
