“Insect infested, please avoid”

When we told the hosts we had no food, they gave us noodles with meat and lettuce that we paid for, but still charged us for water. On arrival the hosts seemed shocked and asked if we had a reservation, even though we had received a message earlier that day saying “we look forward to serving you.” I showed them the booking and they claimed the room wasn’t available, so they gave us a slightly cheaper one, explaining the price was higher because of the season—something not listed on the website. The area around the hotel had no shops or restaurants and was hard to reach. The room was filthy; opening the door revealed a huge cockroach on the curtains and spiders everywhere. The ceiling had three large holes, letting insects and lizards in, and we heard scuttling sounds like mice or rats in the ceiling at night. No drinking water was available, so the host said we’d have to pay for it if we wanted any. We managed a few hours of sleep beside the bad company, then got up early to catch a taxi and leave. While heading to the taxi the host ran up to us asking if we had paid for the drinks from the night before (which we had paid for immediately at the desk) and it felt very rude after all the problems with the property.
