I was there to run the 29K around the lake, and the location was quite close to the Xiangshan Visitor Center, which is a big plus. The mattress was a bit firm, the cotton comforter was thick, and the room had no air‑conditioning; the mountain can get cool at night, though I’m not sure how it feels on a summer evening. The next day’s breakfast sandwich was amazing—my wife raved about it, so I had to leave a review. The parking lot is large, but the entrance is narrow, so be careful with big cars; it seems like removing a brick wall to widen it would be doable.

The spot is close to Sun Moon Lake, so it’s convenient to have dinner first before checking in. There aren’t any shops around. In the evening, the hosts host a bonfire and tea gathering, and it’s great to put your phone and TV away and chat with everyone. The hosts went out of their way to prepare a generous vegetarian breakfast that was absolutely delicious!
