The location is fantastic, the accommodation was superb, and the facilities for kids were great. The only downside was that the food felt a bit pricey.

The caravan was stunning—spacious with a large kitchen that had everything you could need. There’s a bath and another shower, both ensuite, so I could bathe while my eldest showered. It felt like a small home away from home, with a washing machine and plenty of cleaning supplies. The spot is great; heading further up the track (left) leads to another forest trail perfect for family morning walks, and you can see the castle monument near the golf course. The new children’s park is impressive and well planned. There’s also a tavern takeaway that serves hot waffles and crepes, plus an indoor restaurant. Everything is within walking distance. The only issue was that the tiny bin bags kept breaking, so I had to rewrap them and they split on the decking. A welcome brochure or printed info about local attractions would have helped; we didn’t know the soft play, Hawick, or the swimming pool was nearby until we tried Jedburgh and found the Jed pool closed.

We’d rate it 5/10; it’s okay but feels under‑priced. The location is hard to find—no clear directions. The owner gave vague hints like “look for the pointy top of a building/turn left when you see the first orange building” in a large holiday park, which made check‑in a long, frustrating process. They didn’t send the PIN code for the keys ahead of time, so we had to call. There were no extra toilet paper or kitchen towels, which is disappointing for the price. No shampoo or soap at all, so we had to drive 15 minutes to a nearby town to buy them—again, not expected at this rate. The living room carpet smelled dusty and dirty, clearly needing a deep clean. The TV is old; most apartments now have smart TVs or ways to connect your devices.

A lovely place with an amazing location, a friendly host, and very clean. The property has everything you need, and it was a pleasure to stay. Highly recommended. The only thing I’d have liked was a slightly later check‑out so you could enjoy the stay a bit longer, but honestly, no one actually asked us to leave.
