The view from the room was very serene. I booked two tree houses, but elderly guests might struggle to walk into the rooms. The jeep rides back and forth were good. Food was great. The toilet cleaning fell short; the stalls stay wet and slippery, and drying takes a long time. A separate wash area would have kept the bathroom dry.

The resort’s location is convenient and the food tastes good. However, some rooms are very old and poorly maintained: the sofas lack cushions, the in‑room fridge doesn’t work, and I encountered cockroaches in the bathroom until they gave me a different room. The buffet spread had many fruit flies; a better clean would have helped.

Most staff were very polite and helpful when I managed to talk to them. Housekeeping was prompt whenever we needed something, and the front desk was very helpful too. The concierge (I can’t recall his name) spent a lot of time late in the day explaining trip options, even after we said we probably wouldn’t go. The location is pretty fantastic, especially if you can get a room or suite with a mountainside view. Being in nature means you have to deal with monkeys, which can be very troublesome if you’re trying to enjoy the balcony, but that’s not the property’s fault. The overall look and feel is positive; the traditional Kerala and South Indian décor near the front desk and en route to the rooms adds to its elegance. Oh, and the internet works well—which is great for us with a kid because the TV channels all pop up with “please subscribe.” We managed to cast using the Wi‑Fi, so that’s a plus. Rooms: I can only judge based on the two rooms we booked. They were definitely spacious, but many furnishings felt dated—the rugs, the couch, the bed headboards, and many bathroom fittings. We also found a leak at one of the washbasin taps, seeping into the floor underneath. The bathroom had sliding glass doors with peeling decoration, so you could see straight through. Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms could be better, especially given the cost. The restaurant and food were a big letdown. Everything felt disorganised from the moment we went down for tea and coffee—it took over 40 minutes to arrive, and when we asked, staff said 20–30 minutes was standard for any order. I understand some delay if food is involved, but this was just tea and coffee for a party of five. When it did arrive, it wasn’t enough for us. To make matters worse, my parents had a bout of food poisoning the day after the dinner buffet. Breakfast was definitely better, but again disorganised, with hardly any seating and long queues at the live counter. I understand it may have been a busy weekend, but managing that queue is the resort’s problem, not the guests’. Lifts: there was just one lift on the side where our rooms were accessible, and it could barely fit four or five people. With guests constantly checking in and out with luggage, everyone was always waiting for the lift. Some of the more able‑bodied guests took the stairs, but many older or mobility‑restricted guests, including my parents, waited up to ten minutes just to get from one floor to another.
