The spot was spot-on, right in the heart of Matera, and the person who welcomed us was very friendly. The apartment was clean and cozy, but the breakfast was pretty lackluster—just a croissant and coffee.

The location was perfect, just a few steps from a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the sassis. The room was tastefully decorated, comfortable, well‑equipped, and clean, with the added bonus of a terrace. We liked the small touch of having coffee available in the shared kitchen. The listing didn’t clearly state that the private bathroom was on the landing, but the bathroom itself was spotless and there were no issues moving around at night. Note that the room is on the upper floor, so you have to climb a rather narrow spiral staircase; we had planned for that by packing the essentials in a small suitcase and leaving the larger luggage in the car trunk.
