The décor is very nice and cozy, feeling especially warm for a winter stay; the bed was comfortable and I slept soundly, the view was pleasant and breakfast was plentiful though not quite to a Chinese palate, and the castle right next to the hotel added a beautiful touch. The first day we were greeted by a helpful older man who was very nice, but later a younger guy, possibly the owner, seemed perpetually unhappy, sent us to look up motorcycle rentals online, and only on the final day, when we were checking out, he cheerfully asked what time we were leaving and if we needed help with luggage, which raised our impression, yet he never showed up at the agreed 6:25 am to move our bags and even called us at 4 am, waking us up with a weird question about a vintage car; also, the two bottles of mineral water we received on arrival weren’t replenished after the next cleaning. These small issues didn’t match the overall experience of other destinations, the room price was high, and while the location works for self‑drive trips, staying in Göreme would be more convenient and parking is limited here.
