The Casablanca I encountered has really shifted to newer districts; those who remember the city from decades ago will feel nostalgic. It was a pleasant trip back in time with colonial architecture, white‑washed streets, cafés, restaurants, bars, and cabarets—worth a visit even for those who haven’t seen the old theatre, libraries, old cinemas, or the vintage shops and footwear stores. The abandonment of heritage institutions is disheartening; this historic city has a soul that must be preserved, and authorities should contribute to that effort.
