The Budget Double Room provides a tea and coffee maker together with a seating area. A large double bed sleeps two guests. The private bathroom includes a shower and a hairdryer.
Das Holzfassdorf is very beautiful, the barrels themselves come with a comfortable bed and seating. There’s also a separate tea‑kitchen where you can make tea and coffee. From the barrel terrace you get a lovely view of the surroundings. The hotel breakfast was very tasty and offered everything you need.

Unfortunately our stay in the barrel was unsatisfactory. At arrival the inside was very cold because the outside temperature was around 4 °C. Even though we turned on the heater under the bed right away, it wasn’t until the next morning around 8 am, just before we left, that it became somewhat bearable. Even more disappointing was that neither my phone calls to the reception nor my app message were answered. A quick response to such issues would have been appreciated. Additionally there was a safety incident: my friend slipped hard on the icy wooden staircase to the barrel around 4 am while going to the toilet. The stairs should have been better salted or secured during winter. Bottom line: I can recommend the barrels for the summer months. In the cold season the heating seems inadequate, so I would currently advise against booking in winter.

The location is absolutely stunning—right in the middle of the forest. In the restaurant you have to expect very long wait times. The food is excellent, and the breakfast was beautifully presented and plentiful. The service staff is sometimes very nice and friendly, but there are also less friendly staff members. The wait times in the restaurant were already borderline long—people sat for a long time even without a drink.
