We stayed for 3 nights. Everything was clean, and the property had nice details, especially the abundance of plants outside, which I appreciated. Breakfast was great, and the family was amazing—helpful with everything. The main street is a 15/20‑minute walk away, but they offer scooter rentals if you’d rather not walk.

100% agree with the other comments: the host family is super lovely! They cared for me, replying quickly by text whenever I had questions. The room and bathroom were extra clean, spacious, and had a private garden. Monkeys visit the house every morning but never try to steal my breakfast—sweet creatures. The local breakfast was fantastic. Everything is within walking distance (about a 15‑20 minute walk from the main beach of Hiri; a shortcut goes through the best restaurant). I didn’t need a scooter and walked everywhere in town. Nothing to complain about—I even extended for 3 more nights.

I loved staying with this wonderful family. The room was spacious, the bed huge, the AC fantastic, and I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The family made the whole experience extra special; I even got dinner cooked for me and helped with the prep, which was fun. They welcomed me warmly, gave me a sweet nickname, and I’d recommend staying here to everyone. They’ll look after you, feed you well, and you’ll feel part of their home. From the moment we stepped in, Rasa and his family made us feel right at home, and we’re already planning to return. Their hospitality was warm and helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable. Breakfast was consistently tasty and varied, and we were pleasantly surprised by a special treat for Sri Lankan New Year. The property is a 15‑20 minute walk to the beach, but we appreciated the quieter setting and the many dining options nearby. The place matched the photos perfectly, and a handy tip is to ask the host for a tuk‑tuk ride if you arrive by bus to Dikwella.

The room was very comfortable and spotless, with a small private outdoor area and a good breakfast. The homestay owners were very attentive, making for a great stay.
