“Dirty”
Mel, the only staff member on duty, was pleasant. The room was unpleasantly dirty with thick dust on the sideboard and headboard tops, and the fan was utterly disgusting. After our trip to the Bombay Distillery, we decided not to stay the night even though we had paid in advance. My friend emailed the White Hart twice to give them a chance to respond and apologise for our appalling experience, but we have heard nothing back, so I presume they do not care about our feedback. I have decided not to post our photos.
“Would stay there again when I am in the area”
The location was convenient, the staff were helpful, and the facilities were good.
“A lovely stay. Comfortable and welcoming”
Finding the venue in town was easy, the staff welcomed us warmly and the room was lovely, yet I received an email the morning before my night’s stay warning that the venue was a busy live‑music spot and offering a refund if I wanted to cancel; why was this sent on the morning of my night’s stay? Fortunately, it was quiet and perfect that night.
“Excellent, would stay again!”
The place was solid, with decent facilities, though parking was limited; I managed to park a short walk away without any major inconvenience.
On Saturday afternoon a lady from the staff was helpful and provided good service, but the shower was dirty with black mould, the area beside the bed hadn’t been vacuumed, a plug near the single bed kept falling off the wall, the bathroom was noisy and old‑fashioned, the bedding was poor, the room was so hot that we had to sleep with wet towels, the window couldn’t be opened wide, the pub next door was very loud, there was no air conditioning, and the fan was pathetic and didn’t help at all.
