The spot is fantastic with a view over the lake, and the houseboat itself is super. It’s also ideal for renting a whisper boat on the spot, and they give you great routes to cruise through the reeds. Highly recommended. Nothing really stood out as negative.

The setting is very beautiful, ideal for a couple, and kayaking is optimal.

The boat house sits at the end of a long dock deep in the lake. There are two terraces, one larger and one smaller, perfect for watching the sunrise (at breakfast) and sunset for a sundowner. And the peace! Frogs, a distant cuckoo, wonderful! The romantic canal with the little thatch‑roofed houses of Belt‑Schutsloot lies right next door (a smaller sister of Giethoorn). Everything was fine.

The spot is truly remarkable—right in the heart of the nature reserve on the water with a 360‑degree view, and the Bakker family is always ready to help. We spent a fantastic time sailing with the sloop and cycling around, and we’ve already booked another week in August, which says it all.
