“I have stayed at this hotel before, which was very good. Unfortunately this time I cannot say the same, which is a shame”

The location is good. When I arrived, there was a wet towel on the bed, no remote control, the blind wasn’t working properly, and the bed was uncomfortable.

“Perfect place to stay for hospital”

I’m staying here while a relative is in hospital, and the location is ideal—walking distance to the hospital and Tesco Extra, and only about a 5‑minute walk to the seafront. The room is clean and comfortable, and it comes with a kettle, biscuits, tissues, a hairdryer, a decent‑sized mirror, and a fan. The bathroom is super clean. Breakfast is a simple continental spread—ham, cheese, pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc.—and there’s a separate toaster for gluten‑free bread, which is a nice touch. The only downside is that the paint and carpet in the corridors look tired, and I’ve occasionally gotten lost in the maze of corridors, but overall the room is fine.

“Excellent location, excellent facilities, friendly staff”

The room was very clean and had everything we could need, with nice décor and a fresh feel. The staff were polite and friendly, and breakfast was lovely. We’ll definitely return, though the mattress wasn’t very comfortable and the room was located above the kitchen.

“Poor and in need of repair!”

The location and staff were excellent, but from the start I had trouble finding our room. The wall had dirty tea drips on it, and the view from the window was just scaffolding. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, so there was no privacy, and the shower cubicle wouldn’t stay shut, causing leaks; the shower head pole was almost falling off. The furnishings were shabby—a torn leather sofa, a rickety bed, and a generally tired‑looking room. There was a strange smell on the towels and bedding, not very pleasant, and the towels came in various shades of white. The pillows were hard, and sleeping was impossible because the food lighting outside the windows and very thin curtains let in bright daylight all night. I’m not returning and wouldn’t recommend it.

It was a confatable and low cost digs for a weekend in Aber, well located and serviceable. The hotel is a bit of a maze of corridors and there was no lift so you wander around the maze going up and down for some rooms
