Nestled on the A619 beside the River Wye, Castle Inn by Greene King Inns offers 16th‑century charm and spacious, ensuite rooms with showers and hairdryers. The location was great and the staff friendly, but the bedroom floor was a bit uneven and noisy to walk on.

The location, location, location made it perfect for exploring the town; the accommodation was in a very nice period village pub and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The bathroom could use a refresh and a change of beds, as the beds were very soft and not the most comfortable, but otherwise the room was very large with very good amenities to make your stay more pleasant.

The pub in the heart of Bakewell was nice, the staff friendly, and the evening meal good; breakfast was very good. The room (Buxton) opened directly onto an outdoor seating area and was very close to the road, so there was a lot of vehicle noise from around 6am.

This place was an absolute gem! The staff were attentive and friendly, the pub offered a nice selection of beers and liquor, and the restaurant served some of the best food in town. We would definitely return if our paths took us this way again. Everything was really fantastic—nothing negative at all. It exceeded what we would expect from a centuries‑old pub and hotel; access was easy, our room felt absolutely secure, and the location near the river and bridge was ideal. We were quite pleased.
