“Un posto magnifico per stare lontano dal caos, tranquillità la parola d’ordine”
The staff were kind and the place was lovely, but the mattresses and bed nets were not very comfortable.

The property and its surroundings are enchanting, with a river that gives a sense of peace and tranquility, making it a top spot for those who want to stay in peace; however, there were no air conditioners or mosquito nets, so with the high temperatures the stay in the room was truly unpleasant. We were only given a fan and kept the windows open all night to sleep, knowing insects could come in because there were no nets. Breakfast was good, but the savory options could be better. The restaurant was closed even though booking said it would be available for the duration of the stay.

The property is wonderful, surrounded by nature just steps from the Nera River and next to the beautiful Chiesa, with a very suggestive location and well‑kept, high‑quality rooms. Breakfast is excellent and varied, served in a beautiful little lounge. Given the rising summer temperatures, I would recommend installing air conditioning in the rooms or at least adding mosquito nets, as the beds are overly springy.

The abbey is simply fantastic, meticulously cared for in every detail, exuding peace and well‑being in every corner. The inner courtyard invites you to pause from the hectic pace of modern life and sit at one of the tables to enjoy the plants and vines, breathing an air from another time. If you have a bit of extra time, stop by the meadow and maybe take a refreshing dip in the invigorating waters of the Nera River. The room we were given was simple but equipped with all comforts, with a window overlooking the green and the bridge over the river. The cleanliness of the property is impeccable, smelling clean like all the linens, a detail not to be overlooked. The hot shower and water pressure are excellent. There is no air conditioning in the room, but there is a fan that we didn’t even use because at night, if you leave the window slightly open, the fresh air from Val di Narco comes in, which I highly recommend for being lulled by the crickets and occasionally a screech owl. In the hall with the vaulted stone ceiling where the first Syrian monks’ cave is located, breakfast is spectacular, varied, and abundant with many homemade sweets, which, along with the excellent coffee, made me start the day with a smile! A heartfelt thank you to Fabiana and the entire staff who made our vacation unforgettable! I’ll stay a bit longer next time, but we’ll return!

The hospitality, especially from one of the two reception ladies, was friendly, and the proximity to the river and Scheggino, the silence, and the comfortable beds were all positives, but the room had spider webs that needed cleaning.
