The location was good and close to the event we attended; the owner personally made our beds and refreshed the room when we asked; we could see corn fields from our room; it was the cheapest room in the area, which is fine because I usually stay in budget motels, and the TV worked well. However, the room was dirty—spider webs covered the interior, and there were too many bugs (we’re on the back side of a farm field, but the webs should have been removed daily). I had to buy an extended Swiffer duster at Walmart to clean them, and my husband probably killed 15 spiders—EEK! (I hate spiders). The little refrigerator was unclean; metal bedframe pieces protruded past the mattress and I caught my ankle on them—OUCH! The owner should trim them so they don’t stick out; they wrapped them with yellow padding, but it still hurt badly. Outside, a black garbage bag and various items were scattered around the building and on the walkways, which should be cleaned up. The walls were paper thin and we could hear our “neighbors” extremely well, so we all slept with earbuds and music to drown out the noise. There was water damage above the tub that needed finishing paint, but that didn’t bother me much. The shower curtain was gross at the bottom and needed changing. But it was a cheap motel room—you get what you pay for.
