“Beautiful accommodation and as I said the host went out of his way to assist me”
Even though the accommodation was a bit off Via Francigena, it was excellent, and the host went out of his way to help me order takeaway food because there was no restaurant nearby.
“Ne convient pas aux français je dirai”
The owner speaking French was a plus. The listing was misleading; it wasn't a whole ground‑floor property but just one of several rooms on the ground floor, so the walls were thin and I could hear the 7:30 am wake‑up call! The pool photo was also false, and the residents just walked through the courtyard that was supposed to be ours—unacceptable. The pool was noisy because it wasn't accessible. The walls were thin, and the breakfast was terrible: no cocoa, only packaged items. We were three, so there were 3 madeleines, 3 croissants, 3 packs of 4 biscotti, 3 individual Nutella, and 4 individual jams. The bathroom was clean but had mold if you looked closely. The family room made my 15‑year‑old son lie against the wall next to the TV—see photo—so it’s hard to sleep without bumping into something.
“Veramente ottima sistemazione per viaggiatore solo e per riposare.”
The property is outside the town center, at least a couple of kilometres away, about a half‑hour walk; it’s quite isolated, which makes it extremely quiet, and it’s next to a long, wide, tree‑lined avenue. The stay was really good, starting with Francesca’s availability, who let me check in a bit early and gave me all the directions, including how to order dinner for delivery to the B&B. The room was super cool, even in the heat, and perfect for a solo traveller. I could also hang clothes to dry just outside. In the common area there was a coffee machine and bottled water. I didn’t use breakfast because it started very early, but I saw it was well equipped. Nothing negative—everything was great.
