⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a wonderful stay at Petit Ana Beach Retreat, Varkala! The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and very close to the beach. The rooms were neat, clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. The staff and caretaker were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Service was excellent, and everything was arranged smoothly. It’s a perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay near the beach. Highly recommended! Thank you, Petit Ana Beach Retreat, for a lovely experience.

“Disappointing stay – poor management, misleading reviews, and major red flags”

We stayed at Petit Ana for two days, and our experience was highly disappointing. The property is in a remote interior area, making transportation difficult and leaving a lack of basic amenities nearby in case of an emergency. The manager—a young boy who is the sole point of contact—was neither helpful nor proactive. Basic facilities were unreliable: we had hot water on day one, but none on day two. Even for drinking water, we had to call the manager multiple times before it was provided. The rooms did not have an electric kettle, tea, or coffee. Both rooms and bathrooms were poorly maintained and not up to standard. The partial sea view was blocked by nearby buildings and looked over unpleasant waste. Before arrival, the manager asked us to cancel the booking and pay him directly, threatening to report us as a "no-show" if we didn’t. We ultimately cancelled and paid directly to his personal Google Pay account after arriving, which was a major red flag and highly unprofessional. He promised complimentary breakfast on arrival day, but we never received any. We booked after reading several good reviews, but it seems those were from when the owners managed it directly; the current standards are lower.

I spent a wonderful time at Petit Ana Beach Retreat, feeling it offered great value for money and the staff were very helpful, giving us useful local tips and explaining the area. The location is ideal, right next to the beach and convenient for everything around Varkala. Overall, the stay was comfortable and pleasant, and I’ll definitely return next time.
