Wow! What a fantastic place! The view of the lake is amazing, the room is very nice, breakfast is delicious, and the owners are very friendly. It feels like home. Make sure to visit Baskochi viewpoint at sunset—it’s 45–60 minutes up and 30 minutes down, and it’s totally worth it. If you need a driver or guide, they can connect you with Sajid, who is awesome. Hope to come back one day!

ZEN BY THE LAKE is a must‑experience at least once in your life, a total must‑see spot, and it’s incredible that a luxurious hotel could be built in this hyper‑rocky, extremely steep, and wonderful environment! It’s an incredibly stunning, fascinating hotel—unique, wonderful, spectacular, and very zen! First, the northern mountain region of Pakistan (Gilgit‑Baltistan) is one of the most amazing places on our planet. The scenery: more than 7,000‑meter‑tall mountains surround you, and you’ll feel totally amazed by the extreme natural beauty. Forget the nonsense we always see about Pakistan on TV or social media. At least this northern part of Pakistan is absolutely peaceful and not dangerous! You’ll find the most hospitable and friendly, kind people, and I honestly felt much safer moving around here than in Frankfurt, Paris, or Rome. In this area you find super rocky spots that look amazing, among the tallest mountains on our planet, wild rivers, fertile valleys with trees in fairy‑tale spring or autumn colours, azure lakes, very kind and hospitable people, and all the nice things you can only wish for and imagine! Everything a person who detests mass tourism but loves very special and unique, remote places will find here in this hidden, fascinating paradise! ZEN BY THE LAKE is my top recommendation, and I think you absolutely should not visit this region without staying here for a few days! Why? Because this place is totally amazing, so relaxing and so unique! I was offered unparalleled hospitality and service! The owners are so incredibly helpful and kind, assisting me in a lovely way with whatever I needed.

I was blown away by how everything was spot on – the houses were huge, super comfy, and the view was amazing. The staff, especially the manager, were incredibly personal and genuinely cared about our stay, and a special thanks to the guide the manager arranged for us.

The building itself is stunning, with a scenic view and rooms that feel thoughtfully laid out; each room comes with a wardrobe, fridge, and other amenities outside the room and bathroom, and the balcony is also outside the room so it doesn’t disturb sleepers – the design is superb. Breakfast included fresh juices, which is a rarity at resorts. The only thing missing was a prayer mat.
