The room was very comfortable. It’s a charming little village pub with friendly staff and a fantastic traditional breakfast. They had a good selection of beers, including alcohol‑free options. The shared bathroom and toilet were clean, and there were no issues with how previous guests left it. The creaky floorboards at night woke me up when other guests moved around, but that’s expected in an old building.

The Sun Inn is a very old public house that feels traditional, tired, and dated, which adds to its charm. Because of current changes they no longer serve food in the pub, but they do offer breakfast to overnight guests. Their full English breakfast was exceptional. The room was very basic and exceptionally warm; I couldn’t turn the radiator down—better than being cold, I suppose. The lamps didn’t work well and the mattress was very old.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. They didn’t offer an evening meal, but they let me know well in advance and suggested a nearby pub for dinner.

“Day 3 of the Three Peaks”

A great pub with good draught beers and friendly staff. We stayed on a Wednesday, which was quiz night, and it was a lot of fun. Good luck with the community buy‑out! It would be nice to have some fruit and yogurt as a breakfast option.

“Room with character and decent breakfast on the Dales Way”

The location worked well for us as we were walking the Dales Way. We knew to expect a shared bathroom because the hosts made that clear when confirming the booking, and everything matched expectations. Breakfast was good. We did notice some mould in the bathroom and no shower gel or toiletries were provided at all.
