Bab el khair Hostel

Nothing, because I hate the city and the noise and never want to go back… But the price‑quality ratio is fine if you want to walk to the market and stay near the bus station, which is a 10‑minute walk. The staff didn’t speak English very well and it was a bit confusing because they didn’t understand the booking system and wanted us to pay again after we already paid. Still, they kindly let us in anyway and confirmed that the payment was done. We booked a room for five adults, but since it only has three beds we had to make do, even though they offered another room, so it was okay in the end. The noise is very loud, but it’s not their fault, so it’s not bad overall.

I think the spot is decent, close to shops and eateries, but finding the hostel is a hassle and the facilities look old and poorly maintained.

The city centre is great, yet the building’s construction keeps the window from opening because of scaffolding, and street work caused unbearable noise until very late at night.
