The spot looks like it's in the middle of nowhere, yet it's less than a 10 minute drive to the harbor and restaurants; the house is well appointed, breakfast wonderful, bed comfortable. The road to get there feels a bit intimidating at night after dinner, but if you're driving on Harris you need to be able to handle it!

This place is exceptional: a five minute drive or 20‑25 minute walk from Tarbert, peaceful, quiet and beautiful, ideal for exploring Isle of Harris. The rooms are comfortable, cozy and clean, and on windy nights you can just lie in bed and listen to the wind roar outside. The lounge is great for reading, chatting with other guests, having a gin & tonic, a wee dram or just sitting and looking at the spectacular views. Breakfasts are great! Elly, Andy and their kids are such friendly and welcoming hosts. A huge plus for me and my friend were the animals; we loved having them around and sharing the lounge couch with Phoebe the cat in the evening ❤️ So happy we stayed at Ceol na Mara!

We arrived in Tarbert on the evening ferry, so the short drive to the guest house was very appreciated. Once there we were welcomed with warmth and friendliness and shown to a lovely and immaculate room. Loved the Nespresso, too. The breakfast menu was extensive and our choices delicious.

Le petit-déjeuner est exceptionnel. La maison est vraiment charmante, et dans un cadre magnifique, on a envie d'y passer du temps. Les hôtes se sont aussi montrés très attentionnés, c'était un plaisir de les rencontrer
