The location was amazing! You’ll sleep in a floating lodge on a frozen lake with large windows for a fantastic view and, with a bit of luck, the northern lights! You’ll find complete silence and peace, fully immersed in nature. Björn was fantastic, super helpful, even sent us a playlist of local music to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. For an inconvenience he offered us an extra free night, but since we had another booking the next day we couldn’t take it and he advised us on what to do and see in the area we were heading to. The only slightly negative thing is the bathroom: there’s no shower and a chemical toilet without a drain, with very little space for tall people like me. But considering the type of structure and the experience you can enjoy, you can adapt.

The place is aptly named peaceful in the middle of nature. Beautiful scenery. Memorable accommodation building. I always had a ride when needed. I can’t think of anything negative.

The spot on the frozen lake far from light pollution was perfect for watching the northern lights. Bjorn was especially kind, even warned us in real time when the auroras appeared and gave us plenty of tips for the rest of our trip. Nothing negative, we loved our night at the peace and quiet hotel.

The view is simply breathtaking! You enjoy absolute silence and the feeling of being in nothing – totally relaxing. It was a unique experience we won’t forget soon. Dinner on the ice was extremely expensive, but a special experience – partly understandable given the special circumstances and the logistics involved. The host’s great friendliness and willingness to help, even for early morning transfers, was especially appreciated. The only downside is that the accommodation is very small (about 10 qm including kitchenette); it doesn’t have a proper sanitary area, only a small chemical toilet. Moreover there’s no accommodation on site or nearby for showering and meals must be organized in advance. In winter it’s half as bad because you’re escorted to the site. Jokkmokk isn’t always easy to reach by public transport; a car is recommended. Of course this has nothing to do with the host.
