The Shan’s Lodge offers panoramic mountain and lake views from its lakeside location beside Lake Hayes, 12 km from Queenstown. Guests enjoy free Wi‑Fi, private parking, an outdoor spa pool, snack bar, and complimentary bicycles. Rooms feature flat‑screen TVs, bathrobes, and optional spa baths or hot tubs. Nearby wineries, Glenorchy, Arrowtown, and Wanaka lie within an hour’s drive.

The property was spotless and packed with nice features, like heat lamps in the bathroom and shower, a double sink, hot tub, and shower—all of which were great. It was right across from Lake Haye's pavilion, where our friends’ wedding reception was held, so we were practically next door. The only hiccup was finding the driveway entrance at night, but otherwise there was nothing negative to mention.

The spot is close to Amisfield winery and restaurant, it’s nice and quiet, and the host was welcoming and friendly. The shower was great. Nothing else to note.

Everything was loved. We stayed for one night and the place was exceptionally clean with a large bedroom/lounge, a double sink spa bathroom, a utility room, a washing machine, and a clothes dryer. The only uncertainty was whether the spa bath actually worked, but it didn’t bother us.

The house and rooms were spacious. Because it’s off the main road, there is some traffic noise, but the place is well kept and maintained. The only downside is its location off the main road.
