The location is excellent and the place is beautiful, the décor is wonderful and there’s a lot of greenery around the pool. The bathtub had a dark, dirty-looking bottom that prevented me from using it. The balcony net in the room had someone’s hair, indicating it hadn’t been washed or replaced. In the bathroom the trash bin had no bag and was small, so it filled up quickly, and there was no hand soap at the sink. There was a strong mold smell and the walls had significant water damage, causing an absurd allergic reaction in my husband; the wall was covered with a cloth. The shower only had hot or cold water, and the water flow was very thin. Leonardo is very friendly and helpful, but perhaps having just one person to handle everything leaves something to be desired. The breakfast is basic, no hot milk and the coffee is extra strong, and the cheese offered is only raw coalho cheese. I think having someone assist in the kitchen could help a lot. The room had several burnt-out lights, making it hard to do makeup at night.

Several points deserve mention: the initial greeting from the manager‑administrator and the curtains in the rooms were very dirty and moldy. The location and the pool were also lacking.

The location is superb, the house is charming, and getting in is a breeze. The pool area is great, and Leonardo’s service was very friendly, attentive, and kind. The rooms could keep their simple vibe but need better upkeep, especially the aesthetic details, linens, and towels. A bit more organization and taste would boost comfort, cleanliness, and warmth without losing the lodge’s simple charm. Breakfast could also improve with a bit more effort while staying simple and regional. The pool area is fine, but shared fridges are in terrible condition.

The location is a plus, but the lodge itself needs work. It’s a beautiful old house with a lovely pool, yet the breakfast falls short, rooms smell damp, there’s no mini‑fridge, and the manager acted with unnecessary authoritarianism, unwelcoming and repressive. The only bright spot was Leo, who was simple and friendly. Being in Olinda, a UNESCO site, the place should up its service and hospitality.
