I was thrilled with Fireside Lodge—the spot is spot-on, right next to Big Bear Village, a Starbucks, several restaurants, and shops. Working night shifts, I needed an early check‑in and the staff were incredibly helpful. The owner is fantastic, and his son Dave is truly amazing! The hospitality and customer service were flawless, 10/10. I hit Big Bear a lot for work, so this will be my regular choice. I highly recommend it—see you soon, Dave! 😊 Honestly, I have no complaints. After a long shift, all I wanted was a comfy bed and a nice shower, and the room delivered: cozy, spotless, and beautifully arranged with a lovely fireplace. I slept soundly! They even have a pool, though I didn’t have time to use it. Everything was great!

We liked the location, the fireplace, and the room. It had everything we needed. Everything was fine; we were only there for one night.

“Would stay again, minor issues that pale in comparison to the vintage charm.”

The place had a clean, vintage feel and the rooms were tidy. The pool area was spotless and the staff were super friendly. The photos were a bit misleading, and the aesthetics need work—outdoor chairs were mismatched, pool toys were old and deflated, and fences were broken and unpainted, which is what you’d expect from an older hotel. Those were the only issues; the rooms stayed clean and the staff excellent, which matters most.
