The rates were great and the staff were friendly, yet the employees seemed undertrained, the facilities were poorly maintained, the pool was dirty, towels were torn, the sofa bed was broken, the carpets were peeling, and everything felt old and grimy.

The Sunday breakfast was spectacular—carnitas, freshly made tortillas, pancita, eggs to order, on‑the‑spot quesadillas, fresh pancakes, and good coffee—so good it felt like a 5‑star beach hotel buffet, which I didn't expect from a non‑tourist chain. The reception staff were unhelpful: I asked for a hair dryer—once, twice, three times—yet there was none in the room; I called repeatedly during a party and they only said “in a moment,” but never delivered it. The bathroom was unusable when we arrived, and in the early morning a bizarre noise, like machinery or pipes in the walls, woke us around 5 am.

The place is comfortable and I really liked the pool, but the lamps need maintenance.
