The welcome was warm, the dinner excellent, and the private onsen was well maintained and very pleasant. The equipment and furniture were very old and could use a refresh, and the breakfast was disappointing and sparse.

The staff went above and beyond, showing me the proper customs and etiquette and staying very attentive throughout.

The staff were amazing, the private onsens great, and the food was very good. No complaints, though without a car the location would have felt limiting.

An authentic ryokan in the middle of the Japanese Alps, with very attentive staff. The private onsens are superb, as are the public ones. The futons are cozy and the beds are very comfortable.

Special and different, even though we weren't with kids, they offered a pleasant experience at the entrance, with facilities open until nine at night, not just food but drinks too, a special and rewarding place for those who don't want to sleep on a mattress.
