“Beau cadre mais vraiment trop rustique et sommaire!”
In a beautiful setting not too far from the nearest town, Manguzi, there was a large green area with lovely trees and close to a pond, the surroundings were gorgeous. The chalet was all wood, the equipment was basic but functional. The windows were numerous and the immersion in nature was guaranteed. The staff were very friendly, especially Thami, with whom we went on a boat tour around the lakes. We took the safari organised by the lodge, and the guide‑driver was very friendly and competent. The place is really rustic and very, very basic, but the biggest problem that justifies the score of 7 was that the shower temperature was impossible to adjust, it went from cold to boiling, which was very unpleasant and archaic; we are in 2026, if the gas system does not allow proper control, a thermostatic mixer should be installed. The welcome booklet talks about saving water, yet the toilet flush does not even have two buttons (small and large flush)! There was no terrace on our chalet, some others had one. No walks were possible inside the lodge grounds. No internet connection. A power cut happened early in the morning.
