Alexandra Garden Court Motel sits on 2 acres of landscaped gardens beside the Otago Central Rail Trail, offering six self‑contained units with linen, electric blankets, dual heating, oven, microwave, and TV. Each unit opens onto private patios. Guests enjoy nearby Restaurant Industry Lane, the historic rail bridge, and Ferris Road Brewery’s wood‑fire pizzas and craft beer.

Had all the facilities that were necessary for a comfortable stay, but it was a wee bit out of town.

We prefer older motels because they feel more roomy and the quiet, cottage‑like atmosphere is lovely. The only downside was the lack of a heater and exhaust fan in the bathroom.

The owner and staff were wonderful, helpful, and friendly, and they unexpectedly upgraded our room. Every question we had was answered, and the place was spacious with all the comforts of home. The only issue was that the electric blanket on the left side of the queen bed didn’t seem to work; it’s unclear whether the plug or the blanket was at fault.
