The experience was definitely negative. We booked a room with a private bathroom because the place was advertised as a quiet, forest‑immersed setting. In the afternoon the manager started sending us several messages on how to get there, but after several exchanges he told us that a birthday party was happening in the garden with a group of teens in a tent. When we arrived, the situation was far from what we expected. The communal kitchen, which we were supposed to use, was occupied by several teens smoking, with a strong smell that we thought was cannabis. Even more shocking was discovering that our room was directly behind a sliding door that opened onto the kitchen and that the keys were left hanging outside the room, making it possible for anyone to get in. The managers were not present at the property because they were busy elsewhere. When we called them, instead of intervening personally, we were told to pass the phone to the teens so they could be invited to leave the kitchen. As guests, we found this completely inappropriate. At that point we did not feel safe or relaxed to stay the night. We therefore decided to cancel the stay, rode our motorcycle with luggage on a very rough road, and found another accommodation at 19:30, incurring extra costs. I don’t question the managers’ good faith, but I believe guests should have been clearly informed before arrival and given the chance to decide whether to stay in a place that that evening offered no peace or privacy.
