Just off the main road, it’s a convenient stop on the drive down from northern Scotland. The pub is traditional, the rooms are clean and pleasant, but there’s really nowhere to walk outside.

We arrived with two couples and were greeted warmly. Parking was easy, the breakfast was delightful, and the dinner in the evening was excellent. The hotel sits nicely on the route to the Highlands.

The pub’s exterior is nothing special, just off the dual carriageway beside a petrol station, but inside it’s clean, comfortable, well decorated and offers good value. The staff were incredibly helpful, making it a solid spot to discover the local area, though the outdoor seating isn’t the most relaxing in summer.
