“People were kind, but it was the least organised hotel we stayed in during our trip to Turkey.”

The views were great and walking around the island was heavenly. The pool was lovely. On arrival at Kinaliada, there was no one to help us from the port to the hotel, so I had to push a heavy suitcase up to the hotel. When we arrived, the place felt like it was not yet fully prepared for us. We could not swim in the pool on our first day because it was not ready – although once it was ready we enjoyed it very much. The restaurant did not have milk, so morning tea and coffee were a bit rudimentary. The first morning there was no bread, so breakfast was a bit disappointing. Better air conditioning in the bedroom would also have been helpful.

The pool was beautiful and the staff were very helpful and always caring. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was very far from the main street on the island. It was a steep walk, about 20 minutes to get to the resort, and you need to take iron cabs, which were hard to find.

“Heerlijk ontspannend”

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, with sea view, on the quiet, car‑free island Kinaliada. The hotel building itself is charming, a traditional wooden house, and small enough to feel like a guest and not a number. When we were there, beginning of July, there were hardly any other guests, so we often lay alone by the pool. The connection to Istanbul city is excellent, the restaurants in the village are tasty, and the waitress was very friendly. The only drawback – which does not detract from the hotel – is that there are a lot of seagulls on Kinaliada, who also keep screeching at night. That is no problem if they do it from a distance over the sea, but they often sat on our roof or balcony – and when they started screeching, you would be woken up.
