Very nice, quiet, and conveniently located – tastefully and spaciously furnished, comfortable mattresses. The welcoming common rooms (dining area, foyer, lobby) and the generous, abundant breakfast make it a safe place that’s also secured, letting you move freely. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, eager to meet all wishes. Ample parking with a short walk to the rooms. We can’t understand the many negative or mediocre reviews; we were likely in a new phase with recent new owners, and everything was perfect. The new owners have already upgraded Wi‑Fi, TVs, towels/bed linen, and maintenance is noticeably better. A tight management team will be on site soon.

The Guesthouse looks as beautiful and welcoming as the pictures show, with comfortable beds, fresh linens and towels, spotless rooms, tasteful décor, new TVs, strong Wi‑Fi, plenty of space, and a good, absolutely sufficient breakfast that the always friendly and helpful staff could add upon request (I don’t understand previous reviews – if someone expects a breakfast buffet on a 5‑star‑plus level, they should stay at such a hotel and pay for it!). A new owner has invested in the property over the past few months, improving a lot, and the value for money is spot on compared to other places I’ve seen in RSA. The architecture is clever, all rooms are on one level with private terraces accessible from the foyer/common living room. The common areas (dining area, lobby, foyer) are tastefully and comfortably furnished, there’s an open fireplace and a large TV for sports fans. Covered parking is spacious, close to the rooms. The property sits in the green, absolutely quiet – only natural sounds. It’s well connected, close to the centre and halfway to the Knysna Heads. Security isn’t an issue; Knysna is safe, and the property is guarded and fenced with a security gate. Staff are present 24 h. The Knysna golf course is opposite. We stayed as a family with two kids (12/15) for three nights and would have liked to stay longer. We’ll definitely come back (even though we’re not golfers)!

The location was perfect for the golf course and the interior was beautiful, but the room had a musty smell, there was no TV to watch the rugby, and breakfast was a disappointment.

“Our stay was lovely but we have a few issues here and there.”

The place was solid, with a great spot and friendly staff, but the aircon stayed broken from arrival until checkout, the breakfast fell flat, and the water wasn’t hot enough.
