The hostel is fantastic! The garden is gorgeous, perfect for unwinding with plenty of hammocks, cozy seating, and string lights that set a great evening vibe. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Its beachfront location is unbeatable. Because the rooms are treehouses, weekends can be a bit noisy, but that’s part of the lively beach feel. The staff are incredibly friendly and go the extra mile—helped us book an overnight bus to Quito, arranged surfboards, and offered tons of local tips. We felt welcomed the whole time and would definitely return.

We loved the location and the host’s attentiveness, who was super friendly, met all our requests, and even welcomed us early with the room ready. The bar is lovely, offering wonderful coffee, desserts, pizzas, and more so you don’t have to leave at night, even though Canoa is very quiet. Everything else was great, though there are a few minor maintenance issues in the bathroom that need fixing. Maybe improve the room lighting because it’s a bit dim (very romantic).
