What a perfect location! Right at the centre of Matera. The little balcony feels like you’re royalty, looking out over the town and all the people meandering below, best view in the Sassi! The room itself is homely, with a good sized bathroom, a useful little kitchen station and plenty of crockery and useful utensils if you wanted a basic meal or snack. Rocco greeted us warmly and showed us around. Helpful and charming, despite the language barrier. The magnificent view is the star though. Unforgettable. The bed was quite hard, as were the pillows, which disturbed my sleep a bit. Still worth it for that view!
