The hotel was a break from the usual, and I adored the setting and the king suite overlooking the river, yet the breakfast fell short, mostly packaged items with few healthy options.

The spot was excellent, right next to the Fox River trail and downtown eateries, and the suite’s quirky layout had everything we needed; the rooms were spacious, the bathroom large, and the full fridge/freezer a bonus, plus breakfast offered many choices, though the lack of blackout shades left the room bright in the morning because of the many windows.
