Sleeping Ute Mountain Motel

“Very accommodating staff, Not the Ritz but comfortable.”

The location was very convenient for exploring the parks and other sites nearby. The staff were very friendly and tried to get to know their guests. This was our second stay at the motel, drawn by the open communication with staff and their willingness to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was in the office check‑in area as a grab‑and‑go, with a variety of items such as yogurt, juice, hot oatmeal, fruit, pastries, breads, and of course coffee/tea. The sunsets behind the motel are amazing! The facility is generally old, worn, and tired.

“(Sleeping) Ute Motel is Better Than Expected!”

I had an amazing breakfast and the owners were really cool. The rooms look nicer than the first impression suggests, and I wish I could have stayed longer to explore the small canyon behind the property. The sunset spots are perfect, too. It was a bit tricky to find because the signs don’t match exactly and my GPS didn’t locate it correctly, but once I checked in everything was great.

The room was comfortable and the location was quiet, and the customer service was great.

The Joy was great, and the nice lady made sure we had the best stay possible. This family‑owned place is slowly upgrading an old historical hotel/motel. If you prefer hard beds, give it a try; otherwise the rest of the room was great. The only downside was that the mattresses were too hard for me and my wife.
