CBA Suites Madeira

“Exactly what we were looking for.”

We had a great stay here. The room was clean, and the cleaner also came in a couple of times during our stay, which was great. Nice amenities inside the building, such as the pool. The coffee machine in the lobby was a nice touch, though it seemed only the Americano was available. The concierge was always ready to answer any questions via WhatsApp and to check in with us. The room could have benefited from an extra mirror, not just the one in the bathroom. I say this because after using the shower, the bathroom was very warm; then using a hair dryer in the bathroom after the shower made it exceptionally warm, so having a mirror in the room would have been better.

“Dikke aanrader”

The pool was great, but there was no air conditioning.

“Home from home. Quiet, comfortable, could do with air conditioning but fans huge help.”

The place is spacious, and I found nothing to complain about.

“Suited us fine for what we needed.”

The apartment was large with a balcony, the pool was available if you wanted to use it, and the host was helpful. I didn’t like that after already paying and booking on arrival, they still demanded an extra cleaning fee; we paid €9.99 via PayPal for a single night, yet there were long black hairs in the bathroom and a deodorant lid on the floor next to the bed. They also require you to empty the apartment’s bins when you check out. We thought there was parking, but that turned out to be false; you just have to try your luck on a street a bit uphill.

The room was clean, the location close to the waterfront and the Ronaldo museum, and overall very tidy and comfortable. However, it was very stuffy, the AC wasn’t working which made sleep difficult, and the towels had a strong detergent smell.
